MET/Van Renssalear Hall
Van Rensselaer Hall (1759) was originally part of a large estate in Albany, NY. and its reception hall is currently housed on the second floor of the American Wing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Paint analysis by Susan Buck identified the medium and color of the original paint applied to the wooden elements of the room. In 2011 Erika Sanchez-Goodwillie was contracted to reproduce the paint using traditional materials and tools. In collaboration with Chris Mills, the paint was manufactures and applied to all trim and woodwork of the room using traditional tools and materials.
