Replication of 18th Century Woodgraining                                                                             2012
The Schorsch Home and Boathouse was built in the mid 18th century on the coastline of Portsmouth NH. Restoration of the interior was done by Chris Mills in the summer of 2012 and included woodgraining of the paneled fireplace surround and stair panels in the sitting room, and the closet doors leading to the dining area. The recreation was based on the evidence found on an original door interior. Paint Analysis, conducted by Kirsten Travers-Moffitt, Paint Analyst, identified the woodgraining as the first generation of finishes, likely during the time of construction. The original "country" style handling of the graining (using broad and unrefined brush marks) and original colors of the base coat  and glazes were used in the recreation.
